Texas TRS invests $800m in two real estate funds
The Teacher Retirement System (TRS) of Texas has committed $800 million to two real estate funds, according to a recent investment report.
TRS committed $600 million to the opportunistic Invesco Real Estate GPA, managed by Invesco Real Estate, and $200 million to the core Madison International Prime Property Investors Series II, managed by Madison International Realty.
Texas TRS’ real estate portfolio focuses on private or public real estate equity securities investments, private or public real estate debt, real asset mezzanine debt or equity, mortgage-related investments, entity level investments and private or public REITs. The portfolio also includes private or public master limited partnerships and other opportunistic investments in real estate.
