by Jody Barhanovich

The $151.4 billion Teacher Retirement System of Texas has committed a total of $500 million to four funds, ranging from investments in energy, natural resources and infrastructure, according to Rhonda Price, communications manager for the pension fund.

The largest of the four commitments was $250 million to Blackstone Infrastructure Partners, managed by Blackstone Infrastructure Advisors. The open-ended fund will invest in different types of projects and will focus on energy, transportation, communications, and water and waste facilities.

Texas TRS also committed $50 million to NGP Natural Resources XII and $100 million to NGP Naboo, both managed by NGP Energy Capital Management. Both are energy-diversified funds.

The fourth commitment was $100 million to Dewback Infrastructure, a fund managed by DCP Fund I Adviser.
