The $142 billion Teacher Retirement System of Texas has committed $250 million to Carlyle Global Infrastructure Opportunity Fund, according to Juliana Fernández Helton, communications specialist for the pension fund.
Carlyle Global Infrastructure Opportunity Fund has a $2.5 billion fundraising goal and will invest in non-core infrastructure investments with a return target in the mid-teens.
Texas TRS previously committed $85 million to Quantum Energy Partners VII, an energy fund with a core focus on upstream oil and gas opportunities in North America. The fund’s secondary focus is on midstream, power generation and oilfield services assets.
