The $27 billion Employees Retirement System (ERS) of Texas has committed $75 million to Actis Energy 5, a private infrastructure fund managed by Actis Energy.
The commitment closed during July, according to an investment report from Texas ERS.
Actis Energy 5 is targeting renewable energy assets, such as wind and solar projects, in emerging markets, primarily in Latin America, Africa and parts of Asia.
The fund competed its first close in July with $2.9 billion in capital commitments against a target of $4 billion. Denmark’s Industriens Pension was among the fund’s investors.
As of May, Texas ERS had a 3.68 percent allocation to infrastructure, against a 4 percent target allocation.
