The Employees’ Retirement System of Texas (ERS of Texas) has committed $50 million to Actis Long Life Infrastructure Fund (ALLIF) 2.
ALLIF 2 will buy operating infrastructure assets, including those in the power, transport and logistics sectors, with a focus on building sustainability leaders and creating operational value over a 10-year-plus hold period.
Actis’ Long Life Infrastructure investments in recent years include Eolicas Babilonia, a 137-megawatt wind farm in Northern Brazil; El Pelicano Solar Company, a renewable-energy producer with a 110-megawatt (DC) solar plant in La Higuera, which helps to power the Metro de Santiago; Emirates District Cooling (Emicool), a district cooling service provider in the UAE; and Uludag Energy, an electricity distributor and retail service provider in the South Marmara region of Turkey.
Actis closed its first Long Life Infrastructu
