Texas has approved two U.S.-Mexico border wall construction projects totaling $307 million.
Texas Facilities Commissioners, in a regular meeting, gave approval to award a design-build contract to Southwest Valley Constructors Company in an amount not to exceed $167 million for the Border Infrastructure Project in various locations in proximity to the Texas section of the U.S.-Mexico border. It will total 6.7 miles near Del Rio.
The commission also approved an award of a design-build contract to BFBC of Texas, in an amount not to exceed $140 million for the Border Infrastructure Project in various locations in proximity to the Texas section of the US-Mexico border. It will total 6.95 miles near the Rio Grande Valley.
The land-use agreements are on private land and remain in the negotiation stage, reported the Texas Tribune.
