Teri Viswanath, a former director of First Solar, has joined CoBank as lead economist for power, energy and water.
Viswanath is a former attorney and professional public analyst with more than 20 years of research experience working with companies actively involved in the global energy markets, according to her LinkedIn page. She has experience analyzing the energy markets for global major oil companies, independent producers, utilities and private equity companies.
At First Solar, Viswanath was responsible for the firm's market and competitive intelligence relating to the global renewable industry. She also previously served as managing director at PIRA Energy group, and as the director of commodity research at both BNP Paribas and Credit Suisse, before that. Viswanath has also held a variety of roles at Deutsche Bank, Platts, a division of McGraw-Hill, Citadel Investments and Dynegy.
