Global steel pipe manufacturer Tenaris has secured the offshore export pipeline contract for the Alen Gas Monetization Project in Equatorial Guinea, the company announced on Tuesday.
The project is a key component of a West Africa growth strategy by Noble Energy, an independent oil and natural gas exploration and production company.
Upon construction, the 70-kilometer (43-mile) pipeline will transport natural gas from the Alen offshore platform to existing onshore processing facilities on Bioko Island with the goal of transforming the platform to a development hub for future gas fields in the Gulf of Guinea.
Tenaris will produce a total of 21,000 metric tons of line pipe at its Confab welded pipe mill located in Pindamonhangaba, Brazil.
