Telia plans 5G network rollout for 2023

Telia is on its way to become the first operator in Norway with a nationwide 5G network by 2023.

The company has already launched the new network for customers in Oslo, Bergen, Trondheim and Lillestrom, and it will continue the rollout to 19 more cities and municipalities during the first half of 2021.

“5G is one of our most important focus areas and plays a crucial role in the continued digitalization of Norway,” said Stein-Erik Vellan, head of Telia Norway. “We are keeping a fast pace in the deployment of our nationwide 5G network, and in the first part of 2021 we will roll out 5G to customers in Stavanger, Sandnes, Sola, Asker, Bærum, Nordre Follo Ullensaker, Øygarden and Askøy, among others.”
