Telehouse International Corp. of Europe is planning to build its fifth data center in London Docklands in an effort to expand its data center campus in the area, Broad Group reports.
The new data center, known as Telehouse North Two, will offer 31,000 square meters (333,681 square feet) of colocation space spanning six floors and represents a £135 million ($176 million) investment.
The Telehouse London Data Centers have become the site for Europe’s first carrier-neutral colocation facility, the home to the London Internet Exchange (LINX), as well as a backbone for the global internet network, according to Telehouse’s website.
The company currently operates four Data Centers in London — three at its Docklands campus in East London consisting of Telehouse North (opened 1990), Telehouse East (opened 1999) and Telehouse West (opened 2010), as well as Telehouse Metro (opened 1997).
