The Tennessee Consolidated Retirement System (TCRS) has increased its in-house REIT portfolio by $200 million, according to a spokesperson for TCRS.
This internally managed passive REIT strategy allowed the pension fund to reach its 10 percent REIT allocation limit, outperforming the benchmark. With this $200 million REIT allocation, the TCRS REIT limit of $700 million has been met.
As of Dec. 31, 2024, TCRS had $72 billion in total assets under management, with a 10 percent real estate allocation target and $7.2 billion in total real estate assets.
