Take-up, supply to increase in European data center market, says CBRE

Global real estate adviser CBRE, forecasts significant levels of take-up and supply to be brought to the European data center market in the final quarter of 2022, following a subdued third quarter.

Take-up for the third quarter dropped to 26 megawatts, less than 25 percent of total take-up from the previous quarter (113 megawatts). CBRE forecasts 380 megawatts of take-up for the year, of which 181 megawatts already has been recorded. London and Frankfurt will account for two-thirds of the annual take-up.

Little new supply was delivered last quarter. Paris was the sole market where capacity was added in Q3 (12 megawatts), as many providers work toward delivery of schemes in the final three months of 2022. More than 200 megawatts of new supply is expected to be added to the FLAPD markets in fourth quarter, more than the total amount of new supply delivered in all of 2020.
