SWIB commits $100m to real estate fund

The $97.4 billion State of Wisconsin Investment Board has committed $100 million to CASA Partners VIII, according to board meeting documents.

CASA Partners VIII is managed by TH Real Estate, a real estate investment manager with $109 billion in assets under management. The value-added real estate fund will invest in multifamily properties throughout the United States.

SWIB previously committed $100 million to the fund’s predecessor, CASA Partners VII, in 2016.

TH Real Estate’s U.S. multifamily housing investment platform serves numerous funds and mandates. CASA Partners VII, held a $245 million close in 2017. CASA Partners VI closed in 2014 after raising $260 million in equity from investors, while CASA Partners V closed in 2012 with $155 million.

SWIB has a target allocation to real estate of 8 percent.
