Folksam, one of the largest insurance companies in Sweden, has committed SEK 1.5 billion ($154 millon) to Infranode II, a Swedish infrastructure fund focusing on the Nordic region.
The fund invests in energy, transport, telecom and multifamily assets. According to a spokesperson for Folksam, the fund’s goal is to provide safe returns while investing in new, climate-friendly infrastructure and developing existing infrastructure to become greener, wherever necessary.
“The investment will provide us with assets with safe and stable cash flows, while contributing positively to the spread of risk in the Folksam Group's asset portfolios,” said Michael Kjeller, head of asset management and sustainability for Folksam.
