SUSI Partners is doubling the size of its battery storage portfolio in Texas.
Working with its joint venture partner SMT Energy, a U.S. clean energy developer, SUSI is adding 10 projects with a combined capacity of 100 megawatts to an existing operational portfolio of 100 megawatts.
The projects are primarily located around the cities of Dallas and Houston, complementing the existing assets that are concentrated in Southern Texas and creating a more sizable and geographically diversified statewide BESS portfolio. These new projects are expected to start construction in the first half of 2024, with commercial operations expected to start between late 2024 and the first half of 2025.
SUSI and SMT first started their joint venture in 2022 with the duo constructing, commissioning and operating a 100-megawatt South Texas BESS portfolio. The recent expansion of the partnership comes on the back of the seed portfolio entering commercial operations and the two parties s
