Survey reveals less optimism about commercial real estate growth than in past years

Slightly more than a third of the respondents in a recent poll believe the commercial real estate market is experiencing a gradual slowdown in transaction volume and price increases, according to the webcast poll titled, “Deloitte Dbrief,” by Situs RERC, Deloitte and the National Association of Realtors.

In terms of the commercial real estate market, 9.6 percent of the respondents believed robust transaction volume and price appreciation would continue in 2019, down significantly from 19 percent in 2018. The highest number of respondents, 34 percent, believed the commercial real estate market was experiencing a gradual slowing of deal volume and price increase. That’s comparable to 34.8 percent in 2018.
