Survey participants weigh in on U.K. infrastructure spend

A new survey shows 63 percent of respondents in the United Kingdom view renewable energy investments as important, with 43 percent calling for priority funding of utilities.

The study was conducted by YouGov on behalf of GLIL Infrastructure, a core infrastructure fund  focused predominantly on the United Kingdom, according to Energy Live News, which reported on the research. The survey included a total of 2,015 participants.

The findings revealed 63 percent of survey participants see government-backed investments in infrastructure as the way forward, while only 6 percent called for private investment in infrastructure.

Ted Frith, COO at GLIL Infrastructure, explained that despite the majority of people thinking the United Kingdom should pay for infrastructure, the government is inundated with other matters right now, with money being funneled into healthcare and businesses.
