Starwood Energy and Energy Management sell solar project at New Jersey military base

by Kali Persall

Starwood Energy Group Global and independent power developer Energy Management, Inc. (EMI) have sold Lakehurst Solar to Consolidated Edison Development, Inc. for an undisclosed price.

Lakehurst is a 14.4-megawatt DC solar project currently under construction at Joint Base McGuire-Dix-Lakehurst, a mission-critical, tri-service military base in New Jersey. According to Starwood, the project was developed pursuant to the U.S. Air Force’s Enhanced Use Lease program, an effort by the military to partner with private developers to achieve real asset optimization and long-term energy security.

Affiliates of Connecticut-based Starwood and Boston’s EMI served as developers for the project.
