The energy transition and its focus on the shift to electrical power has opened up opportunities to purchase natural gas assets, as utilities divest them to shore up the electrical grid, according to a report by Julius Bedford, managing director of Bernhard Capital Partners.
Published in the November issue of Institutional Investing in Infrastructure (i3), the report discusses the benefits of investing in natural gas local distribution companies (LDCs) and analyzes several recent transactions. “The importance of natural gas cannot be overstated, as its reliability and adaptability make it an indispensable component of our energy landscape — both now and for the foreseeable future,” says Bedford.
