Hana Asset Management, a South Korean investment management firm, and partner Ocean West Capital are in the works of acquiring DreamWorks Animation’s headquarters in Glendale, Calif. The deal is expected to close next month.
Hana and Ocean West have agreed to pay the seller, Griffin Capital, $290 million, or just under $600 a square-foot, for the six-building, 485,000-square-foot campus at 1000 Flower St., Real Estate Alert reported.
The campus is fully leased to DreamWorks through 2035. The six buildings include office, graphic-design, engineering and studio space.
An investment arm of SunTrust acquired the property in early 2015 from DreamWorks for $185 million in a sale-leaseback deal and five months later, SunTrust sold the property to Griffin for roughly $215 million.
