South Dakota Investment Council commits up to $150m to Starwood fund

South Dakota Investment Council has committed up to $150 million to Starwood Global Opportunity Fund XI, a real estate fund managed by Starwood Capital Group, according to recently released council meeting minutes.

Starwood Global Opportunity Fund XI is an opportunistic, value-added fund that focuses on unconstrained investments in the United States and Europe.

The closed-end fund currently has $320 million in equity commitments, with a fundraising target of  $6 billion.

Other investors include the New Mexico Public Employees Retirement Association, which committed $75 million to Starwood Global Opportunity Fund XI
