Alliant Energy has plans to build 1-gigawatt solar plant in Wisconsin by the end of 2023, which is nearly 10 times the state’s current solar-generation capacity.
It is part of the Madison, Wis.–based firm’s Powering What's Next plan to accelerate the transition to cleaner energy for customers.
Alliant, which has pledged to cut 80 percent of its carbon emissions by 2050, said “changing economics, customer sustainability goals and better renewable technology” are driving the commitment to solar energy.
