European construction company Skanska has signed a £193 million ($235 million) five-year contract to build critical water treatment infrastructure for Welsh Water, which supplies drinking water and wastewater services to most of Wales and parts of western England.
According to the contract, Skanska will be responsible for delivering critical infrastructure across water treatment works and pumping stations as well as upgrading dams and managing pipe installations.
The contract went into effect this month and will run to March 31, 2025.
Skanska has operations in building construction and civil engineering in Poland, Czech Republic and Slovakia, and the United Kingdom, as well as the Nordics.
