SilverEdge DC, a new U.K. data center and colocation provider, has launched with its first center in Swindon, England.
The Swindon data center provides 37,000 square feet of space and offers carrier-neutral connectivity via Tier 1 and Tier 2 networks. SilverEdge said the location was selected due to its location in the M4 corridor, which is home to a large number of tech companies.
SilverEdge is in the process of building a data center portfolio in strategic edge locations around major U.K. business hubs. The company is planning to bring other centers online in the coming months.
Greg McCulloch, who previously served as CEO of DigiPlex and CEO of Aegis Data, has been chosen to serve as managing director of SilverEdge.
“Data centers are absolutely integral to the U.K.'s infrastructure, and SilverEdge DC has ambitious plans to become a significant player in the market over the coming years,” said McCulloch. “We will be targeting locations on the outsk
