Siemens Gamesa to supply turbines for Swedish Twin Peaks wind portfolio

by Kali Persall

Siemens Gamesa has been contracted to supply 39 turbines for two onshore wind projects in Sweden.

Dubbed the Twin Peaks, the Ranasjo and Salsjo sites total 242 megawatts and are located 15 kilometers (9.3 miles) apart. The projects are expected to be commissioned by the first quarter of 2024 and will be covered by a 30-year service agreement.

The deal was financed by funds managed by The Renewables Infrastructure Group (TRIG) and the InfraRed European Infrastructure Income Fund 4.

In May, Swedish wind power company Arise sold the Twin Peaks onshore wind projects to TRIG and Income Fund 4. The sale fetched €8.5 million ($10 million) in fixed consideration for the assets, with an additional €11.6 million ($13.7 million) in variable consideration to come after construction reaches completion.

TRIG and Income Fund 4 each hold a 50 percent stake in the portfolio.
