Selig Development plans $1b mixed-use development in Atlanta

by Jody Barhanovich

Selig Development has announced its plans for The Works at Chattahoochee, an 80-acre mixed-use development in Atlanta’s Upper Westside.

The Works will convert the area’s low-rise brick warehouses into 600,000 square feet of office space, 500,000 square feet of retail, 500 residences, a 200-key boutique hotel, and 13 acres of green space. The project will be delivered in phases over the next 10 years.

Phase 1 is already under way and will begin delivery in 2018. Phase I will include a mix of dining, office, residential, entertainment and public green space, in addition to 200,000 square feet of adaptive reuse within three warehouses.

As the Atlanta area matures, Selig expects to add additional residences, office space, retail and a boutique hotel component in future phases.

Selig has been assembling 80 acres of contiguous, unencumbered property along Chattahoochee Avenue for more than 50 years, according to news sources.
