Schroders is planning to pay £358 million ($473 million) for a 75 percent interest in Greencoat Capital, one of Europe’s largest renewable infrastructure managers.
Following the transaction, Greencoat will become part of Schroders Capital, Schroders’ private markets division, and be known as Schroders Greencoat.
Greencoat has pioneered large-scale renewable energy infrastructure investing in listed and private formats, achieved new commitments for private funds and secured £1.6 billion ($2.1 billion) of equity for listed funds.
Following the transaction, Greencoat will benefit from Schroders’ distribution reach, sustainability capabilities, management experience and brand.
