Saudi Water Partnership Co. has launched an expression of interest (EOI) for the development of an independent water project, according to InfraPPP.
The Saudi Arabian project will be designed using reverse osmosis seawater desalination technology and will derive power supply from the Saudi Electricity Co.’s high voltage network.
The project is to be constructed with 600,000 cubic meters per day of potable water capacity and will include the desalination plant and all associated infrastructure and facilities.
According to InfraPPP, the private-sector developer will be responsible for the development, financing, procurement, implementation, operation and maintenance of the project via a 25-year concession.
