The Government of Sao Paulo, Brazil, has initiated a field operation that would transfer the administration of 21 airports from its airport department (DAESP) to the private sector.
The government contracted executives and technicians from IOS Partners, an international economic development and financial advisory services firm, to carry out studies that will define the project model as either privatization, concession or public-private partnership.
IOS Partners will conduct market analysis, legal processes, demand projections, and technical, economic and environmental feasibility studies in five phases. The firm also will deal with investors, conduct the bidding process and promote the airports.
The firm carried out a variety of physical inspections at the Sao Manuel Airport in June.
The studies are expected to be completed within three to four months.
