San Antonio Fire & Police Pension System has made a $20 million follow-on commitment to KKR Global Infrastructure Investors IV (Fund IV), according to recent meeting minutes.
The pension fund invested in KKR’s first infrastructure fund in 2011, which will have a similar strategy as Fund IV.
Fund IV opened to investors in late 2020, and KKR set a $12 billion fundraising target for the fund in March. The vehicle will invest in infrastructure assets, such as oil and gas pipelines and renewable-energy projects.
If it reaches its fundraising target, Fund IV will be the largest fund in the series, by far. The previous fund in the series, KKR Global Infrastructure Investors III, raised $7.4 billion in 2018, and prior to that, KKR Global Infrast
