Rhode Island commits $35m to infrastructure fund

The $8.2 billion Employees’ Retirement System of Rhode Island has committed $35 million to Stonepeak Infrastructure Fund III, according to Evan England, director of communications.

Stonepeak Infrastructure Fund III, managed by Stonepeak Infrastructure Partners, a North America–focused infrastructure investment firm, invests in mid-sized infrastructure deals in North America. The fund is seeking to raise $5 billion in total equity commitments.

The fund has also received commitments from the $74.2 billion Oregon Public Employees Retirement Fund and the $13.6 billion Maine Public Employees Retirement System.

The fund’s predecessor, Stonepeak Infrastructure Fund II, completed fundraising at its $3.5 billion hard cap in January 2016.The majority of the capital commitments to Fund II came
