Retail and food sales posted a 6 percent year-over-year gain in the second quarter 2018 — the biggest such increase since 2012, according to CBRE’s Second Quarter 2018 U.S. Retail Figures report. Consumer sentiment remained historically high, despite a small decline from first quarter.
Store closures and e-commerce growth continued to negatively affect the lifestyle & mall segment.
Nonstore retailers led revenue growth for the ninth consecutive quarter.
