Repsol, a global multi-energy company, has joined forces with Schroders Greencoat, the specialist renewables manager of Schroders Capital, as a 49 percent partner in a 400-megawatt wind and solar portfolio valued at €580 million ($627 million).
The portfolio includes eight wind farms totaling 300 megawatts in the Huesca, Zaragoza and Teruel provinces of northern Spain. The agreement also includes two solar plants totaling 100 megawatts in the province of Palencia. All assets are expected to be operational during the first half of 2025.
This agreement represents a step forward in Repsol’s renewable power business strategy, which focuses on optimizing the financial structure and profitability of the projects by incorporating partners into the assets to maximize value-generation and ensure double-digit returns.
As part of the transaction, Repsol will maintain control of the assets.
