by Jody Barhanovich

Omnes Capital, a Paris-based infrastructure investment firm, has exceeded its €200 million ($214.9 million) equity fundraising target for Capenergie 3, according to a 2016 investment report on the firm’s website.

Capenergie 3 invests in renewable energy infrastructure projects throughout Europe, primarily in France. The fund is expected to hold a final close in May.

Capenergie 3 is the third fund in Omnes’ renewable energy fund series. The fund’s predecessor, Capenergie 2, specializes in growth capital investments in small and medium-sized companies. It invests in renewable energy, green energy infrastructure, clean technology, energy efficiency sectors and energy generation infrastructures. The fund usually invests between €10 million and €15 million ($10.7 million and $16.1 million) to acquire minority stakes.

In other news, Omnes Capital has launched Construction Energie Plus. The new fund is targeting investments in energy-efficient and low-carbon buildings in the French commercial property market and public infrastructure sector. The fund has an equity fundraising target size of €100 million ($107.5 million). This is the first French fund dedicated to financing the construction or renovation of high environmental performance public and private buildings in France.

Omnes Capital invested €167 million (179.5 million) in 2016 and currently has €3 billion ($3.2 billion) in assets under management, according to the firm’s website.
