Related Group has formed a partnership with Tate Capital and Rok Enterprises to redevelop an underutilized section of Fort Lauderdale into the $1 billion Bahia Mar mixed-use complex.
The 40-acre Bahia Mar plan will redevelop a section of Fort Lauderdale’s waterfront, which is used for the annual Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show. Bahia Mar Resort involves construction of a hotel and two elite-class residential towers, as well as reconstruction of an existing hotel and a park. It will total a luxury 256-key branded resort with 60 condos; 350 residential units in four towers; a mega-yacht marina with 245 boat slips; 87,000 square feet of commercial space, including waterfront offices and restaurants; retail; and captain’s quarters. Additional public amenities include a half-mile pedestrian boardwalk around the entire waterfront side of the property, several acres of waterfront green space, and open access to the Marina Village, a 35,000-square-foot waterfront promenad
