Record high capital outflows from Asia Pacific to North America in Q1 2023

Asia Pacific capital outflow to North America in first quarter 2023 reached a record high, with Singapore the leading source of capital for the quarter dominated by government-linked entities, according to Knight Franks’ Asia-Pacific Capital Markets Capital Flows Q1 2023 report.

According to the report, commercial transaction volumes from Asia Pacific to North America increased by more than 400 percent year-on-year in first quarter 2023, to $13.9 billion. Outbound investments from Asia Pacific into North America made up 85 percent of the total investment volume outside of Asia Pacific, making it the highest first quarter volume recorded.
