The Raxio Uganda data center, located on the outskirts of Uganda’s capital, Kampala, is preparing to commence operations in June, according to Data Center Dynamics. Originally scheduled to open in 2019, the data center's launch was pushed back until June 2020.
Roha, a U.S. investment group focused on African infrastructure projects, is building the colocation facility as part of an effort to help bolster the country’s digital infrastructure. The Raxio brand will operate under Roha’s data center subsidiary, First Brick Holdings Group.
The Raxio Uganda facility will have 1.5 megawatts of capacity and serve financial businesses and government agencies within the country.
