IREI has learned that David Maywald, a senior executive at boutique Australian fund manager RARE Infrastructure, has decided to leave the firm after 14 years in search of new opportunities.
According to his LinkedIn page, Maywald is an investment professional with two decades of equity research and portfolio management experience.
At RARE Infrastructure, he served as chair of the firm’s investment advisory board since 2015 and senior portfolio manager for the income strategy since 2011. He has also been a senior analyst for the firm since 2006.
In Australia, RARE manages four global listed infrastructure funds, each with different characteristics to suit individual investor needs.
Maywald said he became an early signatory of the principles for responsible investment in May 2010 and wrote the first case study for integrating the ESG factors into listed infrastructure portfolio construction in September 2011.
