Quaero Capital has raised €600 million ($730 million) for its European Infrastructure Fund II (QEIF II), exceeding its original target of €500 million ($608 million).
The fund opened to investors in July 2019 with the aim of investing in energy; telecommunications; water and environment projects; social infrastructure; transport; and utilities. The fund will finance equity in both greenfield and brownfield infrastructure projects in Europe.
“This success recognizes the renewed trust from QEIF’s investors as well as the support of new investors, in particular in Switzerland, France, Belgium and Luxembourg,” said Sebastien Bourget, managing partner at Quaero in charge of the infrastructure activity. “These investors were convinced by the quality of the first fund, the assets already in the QEIF II portfolio and more generally by the performance of the infrastructure asset class.”
