Q-Energy acquires 16 wind parks in Germany

Q-Energy, a global renewable-energy investment and management company, has acquired 16 German wind parks from MEAG, with an installed capacity of 109 megawatts.

The investment was made on behalf of the Q-Energy IV fund, which recently completed a €1.1 billion ($1.3 billion) final close. Q-Energy IV focuses on developing new renewables plants, the repowering and modernization of assets at the end of their useful life, and securing the operational and financial optimization of large plants in countries within the European Union. Additionally, the fund undertakes other investments related to the energy transition, such as energy storage, grid network management, hydrogen production and biofuels.

Nearly 60 percent of Q-Energy IV has already been invested in wind, solar photovoltaic or concentrated solar projects in Germany, Poland, Italy and Spain. The fund currently owns more than 500 megawatts of capacity in operational assets, in addition to a portfolio of more than 8
