Pufeng New Energy acquires solar portfolio in China

by Kali Persall

Pufeng New Energy, a GLP-Brookfield renewable venture, has acquired a 40.6-megawatt solar portfolio in China.

The acquisition project, which has been operational for more than two years, covers a 35-megawatt grid-connected distributed photovoltaic platform and 5.6 megawatts for self-consumption, spread across the rooftops of 29 warehouses owned by Chinese ecommerce company, Vipshop.

It is one of the largest single distributed projects in central China and generates some 41,298,700 kilowatt-hours of electricity per year, reducing carbon dioxide (CO2) emissions by 33,787 tons.

The transaction contributes to Pufeng New Energy’s target of 1 gigawatt of installed solar capacity by the end of 2021.
