by Jody Barhanovich

The $54.8 billion Pennsylvania Public School Employees’ Retirement System has committed $225 million to NGP Natural Resources XII, according to Evelyn Tatkovski Williams, press secretary for the pension fund.

NGP Natural Resources XII is managed by NGP Energy Capital Management, a private equity investment manager who focuses investments in the energy sector. The fund continues the series’ focus on the oil and gas production, oilfield services, and energy midstream sectors through its Natural Gas Partners investment platform throughout the United States.

The fund’s predecessor, NGP Natural Resources XI, held a $5.3 billion final close in 2015. PSERS previously committed $100 million to Fund XI in 2014.
