The Port of New Orleans (Port NOLA) has issued an RFP seeking program management/program controls services for Louisiana International Terminal.
According to Port Technology, the 350-acre container terminal will be capable of handling 2 million Twenty-foot Equivalent Units (TEUs) annually, and will include a 3,500-foot wharf, situated within more than 1,000 acres of developable greenfield property.
The site also features riverfront acreage, a 50-foot Mississippi River Channel and access to six Class I railroads through New Orleans Public Belt Railroad and interstate highways. The port will have the ability to navigate ships with a capacity up to 23,000 TEUs.
The project is expected to cost roughly $1.5 billion and will open in 2027.
