Polish office sector sees record demand

Last year saw excellent results in the office sector in Poland. Demand was a record-breaking 1.6 million square meters (17.2 square feet), reported JLL. Total stock exceeded 11 million square meters (118 million square feet), with regional markets accounting for 5.6 million square meters (60.3 square feet) and outperforming Warsaw for the first time.

“Tenant activity in 2019 hit a record-breaking 1.6 million square meters [7.5 million square feet], with 693,000 square meters [tk square feet] of this figure leased outside Warsaw,” said Karol Patynowski, director of Regional Markets, JLL. “Such an excellent result is primarily due to the spectacular performance of Kraków, where 267,000 square meters [2.9 million square feet] was transacted. What’s more, demand in Katowice more than doubled 2018’s total, which has prompted developers to start the construction of new buildings that will change the city’s skyline in the coming years.”
