Phoenix Tower International, a U.S.-based wireless infrastructure group has offered to pay €550 million ($614 million) for the telecom mast unit of EITowers, sources with knowledge of the matter told Reuters.
The activity of Italian telecommunications provider EITowers is divided into a park of 3,300 infrastructures, consisting of 2,300 broadcasting towers and 1,000 mobile phone towers, according to the firm’s website.
EITowers is 60 percent owned by Italian infrastructure fund F2i, with the remaining 40 percent owned by Italian commercial broadcaster Mediaset.
Phoenix Tower is in exclusive talks for the telecom mast unit, according to Reuters.
