Pension fund CIO joins CBRE Global Investors

CBRE Global Investors has appointed Dominic Garcia to the new role of chief pension investment strategist.

In his new role, Garcia will focus on developing solutions for pension funds looking to expand their investments in infrastructure.

Garcia brings a total of 16 years’ experience in the investment and pension industry to the new role. He joins CBRE Global Investors from the Public Employees Retirement System of New Mexico, where he served as CIO since 2017. In that role, Garcia worked with stakeholders on enhancing plan sustainability, established a risk budget and delegation of investment authority to staff, and created a risk-based approach to portfolio management.

Prior to New Mexico, Garcia worked for the State of Wisconsin Investment Board, serving on the investment committee and as a senior funds alpha manager.
