Pennrose JV has groundbreaking for Philadelphia senior project

Pennrose and Philadelphia Chinatown Development Corp. JV have broken ground at 800 Vine Senior, a 51-unit, 100 percent affordable senior housing development. Located in the Chinatown neighborhood of Philadelphia, the new community is expected to open in summer 2024.

The five-story midrise building will include a mix of studio, one- and two-bedroom apartments. All units will be available for seniors at or below 60 percent of the area median income (AMI), with six units available at or below 20 percent AMI, 20 units available at or below 50 percent AMI, and 25 units available at or below 60 percent AMI. Ten percent of the units will be designed for residents with physical disabilities and hearing or vision impairments. In addition, the building will be designed to meet Energy Star Certification and Enterprise Green Communities standards.
