Paula Burgess appointed CEO at Pensions Infrastructure Platform

by Jody Barhanovich

Mike Weston, CEO of Pensions Infrastructure Platform (PiP), has decided to step down after four years leading the business, and PiP has appointed Paula Burgess, formerly COO, as the new CEO.

After achieving authorization from the Financial Conduct Authority in 2016, Weston built PiP into an established U.K. infrastructure investment manager which has deployed U.K. pension fund capital into infrastructure assets, including renewable energy, transport and social infrastructure. PiP is now actively managing these assets to deliver secure, long-term inflation-linked cash flows for its pension fund investors.

PiP says it was “designed by pension funds, for pension funds.” By securing investment commitments and external investments of close to £2 billion ($2.5 billion), PiP has achieved the initial goals set out at its establishment.
