Orsted and Danish pension ATP to bid in Danish North Sea energy island tender

Orsted and ATP, Denmark’s largest institutional investor, are planning to submit a joint-bid in the upcoming tender for the Danish North Sea energy island.

Orsted has constructed more than 25 offshore wind farms and 17 offshore transmission systems across the world, and ATP has some DKK 960 billion ($155 billion) in funds.

The partners said they are seeking to contribute to Denmark’s green transition, its build-out of energy infrastructure, and shape the future build-out of large-scale offshore wind. The North Sea energy island is expected to be a cornerstone in harnessing the Danish offshore wind resources, which can make a substantial contribution toward Denmark’s and Europe’s green transitions.
