Ørsted and Nuveen Infrastructure’s 253MW offshore wind farm begins funneling power to German homes

Gode Wind 3 Offshore Wind Farm, jointly owned by Ørsted and Nuveen Infrastructure, has completed offshore construction and commissioning work and is now producing enough renewable energy to power the equivalent of 250,000 households in Germany.

The 253-megawatt project is Ørsted’s fifth operational offshore wind farm in Germany. The offshore wind farm will be followed by the 913-megawatt Borkum Riffgrund 3, for which the last wind turbine was installed in early January.

In Germany, Ørsted can now supply the equivalent of approximately 1.6 million households with renewable electricity from offshore wind alone. The company operates nearly 20 percent of Germany’s total offshore wind capacity.
